“Just got a Gardena 380 Reel Mower (which looks nothing like the drawing shown here so I’m not sure this is the same mower) and I’m loving it! I’m fairly small, but found it incredibly easy to push; I can even use one hand. I was worried I would have problems since my lawn is weedy and thin, but my first run went great. It’s lightweight which meant mowing a 4′ slope out front was easy, first mowing diagonally, then mowing UP the hill.
And it’s nice looking too - bright turquoise, with orange blades. I’m really glad I went with this instead of a loud, polluting gas mower. It’s made mowing fun! “

Don’t get me wrong, if you have major weeds and overgrown edges you won’t get the job done like a landscaper so you may want to hang on the the edger. Over all a good product and easy to assemble. Our neighbors are always asking questions and interested in our results.”

“I purchased the Great States 815-18 reel mower after researching all the comments on reel mowers. What convinced me most was the review by a customer from NY who had to deal with his steep and uneven lawn. I have similar conditions on a 0.5 acre. The reel mower works very well and is easy to push. There was only little installation (the handle) and that was straight forward and easy.
I find the height adjustment easy to adjust. Even longer grass is cut fairly easily, it takes more effort and strength to push though. I love the quietness of the reel mower. There is some minor disadvantage: using the reel mower requires a 35% overlap to make sure that the grass is cut evenly. Hence, it takes a little more time and effort to cut the grass. However, there are more pluses than minuses. Overall, I am very happy with the reel mower and recommend it.”
